Introduction

Canara Continental Limited run under a strong management, due to CEO Mr. Sudhakar Hedge. Mr sudhakar hegde aged about 37 years is the promoter of the company. He is having a diploma in foreign trade management from Indian institute of export management and is well versed in various aspects of international trade especially in Agriculture Commodities and mineral and Metals. Mr. Sudhakar Hegde is engaged in import export indenting mainly in Agriculture Commodities for the last ten years. During this period he has developed good contact with foreign buyers for Agriculture Commodities and Mineral and Metal and also with Indian suppliers and miners. Due to lack of financial back up canara marketing company used to get the export orders and lcs in the name of Indian suppliers by charging marketing commission for its services.

During 2002, Mr. sudhakar hegde is instrumental in getting an export order for export of 5000 mts of Sugar to bangladesh in the name of M/s karnataka state co-operative marketing federation ltd valued at Rs 5.4 crores which was successfully exported. Mr. Sudhakar Hegde was also one of the promoter directors of Canara Overseas Limited and is instrumental in successfully exporting two shipments of Iron Ore, Iron Ore Fines to china during February-march 2004. It is through his overseas contacts that Canara Overseas Limited could secure this prestigious order. These successful shipments have given him excellent experience in negotiating with buyers, arranging for material and transport, negotiating and arranging for vessel and in other logistics involved in undertaking such exports in a large scale.

Before starting his proprietary concern, Mr. Sudhakar Hegde has worked in marketing department with M/s wiltech india ltd (1987 to 1989), M/s j b advani & Co Ltd mysore (1989-1991), M/s emami and himani Ltd (1991-92). He has also worked as branch manager with M/s arrow webtex ltd for 2 years from 1992-1994. Working with these organizations he got good experience and exposure in marketing field.
